Engineering degree programmes (first cycle) Mining and Geology
Discover the potential hidden beneath the surface
Gain an understanding of modern technologies for the extraction and exploitation of mineral deposits, as well as the solutions used in today’s mining industry. Develop the engineering skills needed in mining, geology, and the extractive industry.
Why choose Mining and Geology (first cycle)?

Engineering Competencies
You will gain the knowledge needed to solve technical problems, design processes, and work with mining equipment.

Two specialized tracks
You can choose either “Mining Techniques” or “Mining Machinery and Equipment,” specializing in either mining operations or machinery technology and operation.

Modern Mining Technologies
You will explore automation, robotics, machine diagnostics, drive systems, drilling techniques, and mining technologies.

Careers in Industry and Geology
You will be prepared to work in places such as mines, geological and geotechnical firms, design firms, and industrial plants.
What will you learn?

Mining Operations
You will learn about methods of mineral extraction and the organization of operations related to the exploitation of mineral deposits.

Geology
You will be able to identify rocks and mineral resources and analyze the structure and reserves of mineral deposits.

Machinery and Equipment
You will master the principles of selecting and operating machinery used in various geological and mining conditions.

Mining Technologies
You will learn about automation, drive systems, drilling, and solutions used in modern mining.

Safety
You will learn how to identify hazards, mitigate risks, and safely organize work at a mining facility.

Design and Documentation
You will practice working with technical drawings, maps, and geological cross-sections, as well as simple technical solutions.
