This specialization prepares students to plan and manage the operation of mineral deposits. You will explore mining technologies, deposit development, the organization of mining operations, and safety protocols.

What will you learn?

Resource Development PlanningYou will practice how to plan the allocation of deposits and select the appropriate solutions for preparing them for extraction.
Mining TechnologiesYou will learn about mining systems and the techniques used in underground, open-pit, and borehole mining.
Drilling and Extraction of Raw MaterialsYou will explore drilling techniques and methods for exploiting mineral deposits - including copper ore and bituminous coal - used in the mining industry.
Economics and Operational SafetyYou will practice how to take into account resource and waste management, mine dewatering, and the conditions for conducting mining operations safely.

  1. First year

    You'll lay the groundwork for mining and geology

    • You will explore the fundamentals of mathematics, physics, and chemistry
    • You will learn the basics of mechanics and engineering graphics
    • You will explore the fundamentals of mining, mineralogy, and hydrogeology
    • You will gain knowledge about mineral resource exploitation and workplace safety
  2. Second year

    You'll learn how to plan the exploitation of mineral deposits

    • You will learn about mineral deposit exploitation systems
    • You will be able to design methods for accessing mineral deposits
    • You will learn about open-pit mining techniques
    • You will learn how to manage mineral resources
  3. Third year

    You'll learn about specialized mining technologies

    • You will gain an in-depth understanding of underground exploratory drilling
    • You will learn the principles of copper ore mining
    • You will gain an in-depth understanding of hard coal mining technologies
    • You will learn how to manage mining waste
  4. 7th semester

    You'll apply your knowledge in engineering practice

    • You will learn the principles of mine dewatering
    • You will complete a field engineering project
    • You will prepare your thesis
    • You will organize the knowledge needed to work as a mining engineer
  5. Internships

    960 hours of work experience

    • Three stages, each lasting 320 hours, enable participants to apply their knowledge of deposit exploitation in a professional setting.
