We have signed an agreement with the United Nations of Europe School Complex in Polkowice. This marks the culmination of our twenty-year partnership with the institution. The agreement was signed in a year marking anniversaries for both parties: the 50th anniversary of the founding of the High School, the 30th anniversary of the School Complex, and the 20th anniversary of the university. “Given the role the school fulfills – namely, in teaching, care, and student development – there are many areas for cooperation,” says Jolanta Rubiś-Kulczycka, director of the School Complex. “We would particularly like to focus on the educational aspect, because the university and the school I represent train students in professions that are greatly needed in our community.” We’ve also devoted a lot of time to environmental initiatives. As a school, we’re strongly committed to climate education. I hope this is an area where we can also find common ground,” she adds. Graduates of the School Complex will be able to continue their specialized studies at UJW. “Undoubtedly, the IT technician program is a natural fit,” replies the School Complex director. “We also train students to become advertising technicians and electrical technicians, and the university offers a related program – mechatronics – which is, after all, part of the electrical technician profession.” So it seems that we are both moving forward – both us, as a school, and the university, as our partner. “Our institutions operate side by side, in the same city, for the benefit of the local community, supported by the same public administration bodies,” notes Tadeusz Kierzyk, PhD, Rector of the Jan Wyżykowski University. “We’re interested in creating conditions that would ensure students from the School Complex can continue their education at our university. This includes meetings – including with lecturers from abroad – classes, and participation in conferences.” “We are open to any form of cooperation. We are doing everything we can to ensure that as many high school graduates as possible come to our university,” he adds. We previously signed cooperation agreements with the Bolesław Krzywousty High School No. 1 in Głogów.
