The UJW Student Research Clubs Conference is over!

On Saturday, May 23, 2026, the Jan Wyżykowski University hosted a conference of student research clubs under the theme “The State and the Citizen: Opportunities and Threats in the Modern World.”
The event served as a platform for presenting research, analyses, and projects carried out by students as part of their activities in student research clubs. This year’s edition focused on the relationship between the state and the citizen, as well as the impact of contemporary social, technological, and cultural processes on the functioning of the individual in today’s world.
The conference program included two concurrent panels: social sciences and technical sciences. Participants at the event discussed topics such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, education, mental health, law, new technologies, and industry.
The conference took place from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in rooms A404 and A407. The event concluded with a ceremony to present certificates of participation.
The conference was opened by Dariusz Zając, PhD, an Associate Professor at UJW and the university’s Rector, and Wiesław Wabik, the mayor of Polkowice.
The following speakers participated in the social sciences panel:

- Natalia Szeląg (SKN ProMa) – “The Law and Loneliness: The Fate of the Estates of Those Without Heirs,”
- Andrzej Walner (SKN ProMa) – “Artificial Intelligence in Education – Opportunities, Challenges, and the Future of Education in the Modern World,”
- Anna Maria Kapuściak-Smolarek and Laura Emilia Mantorska (SKN Volunteers) – “The Role of the Counselor According to Students at the Boarding School at ZSP No. 2 in Nowa Sól,”
- Anna Maria Kapuściak-Smolarek and Laura Emilia Mantorska (SKN Volunteers) – “Factors Affecting Concentration While Studying, According to Students at Upper Secondary School Complex No. 2 in Nowa Sól,”
- Angelika Marianna Ciosmak (SKN Volunteers) – “The Sense of Psychosocial Safety Among Students at Jan Wyżykowski University in a Virtual Environment.”

- Robert Cieślik (SKN Infotronik) – “Analysis of Cybersecurity Aspects of Virtual and Augmented Reality Systems in Mechatronics,”
- Hubert Ges (SKN Infotronik) – “Cybersecurity in Eastern and Western Turkey: A Comparative Analysis,”
- Nikodem Kida (SKN Infotronik) – “Homelab: A Way to Gain Experience from the Comfort of Your Own Home,”
- Nikolas Papenfus (SKN Infotronik) – “From a Single Email to Ransomware: The Anatomy of a Cyberattack.”
