Second Meeting of the Board of Directors of the Jan Wyżykowski University

On May 22, 2026, the second meeting of the Board of Directors of the Jan Wyżykowski University was held. The Board consists of school principals who work with young people on a daily basis and have an in-depth understanding of the needs of the education and labor markets, making them important partners for the University in shaping its educational offerings. The meeting was opened by Dariusz Zając, PhD, Assoc. Prof. and Rector of the University. The proceedings were chaired by Piotr Machoń, Director of the School Complex in Chocianów and Chair of the Board of Directors. The following individuals spoke during the discussion: Rafał Czachor, PhD, DSc, Prof. at UJW – Dean of the Faculty of Social and Technical Sciences; Piotr Krysiak, BEng, PhD – Associate Dean of the Faculty of Social and Technical Sciences, and Edyta Zarecka – Chancellor of the University. School principals also actively participated in the proceedings, enriching the discussions with their experience and insights.   The agenda of the meeting included: – a review of the Board of Directors’ activities, the scope of its responsibilities, and the organization of its meetings, – providing feedback on the study programs for the 2026–2027 academic year for individual majors and postgraduate programs, – adoption of the Rules of Procedure of the UJW Board of Directors, – discussion of proposals regarding the Jan Wyżykowski University Development Strategy for 2027–2030, – adoption of the minutes from the first meeting.   During the meeting, Joanna Mesjasz, PhD delivered a lecture on the topic of neuroinclusion, which drew considerable interest from the participants and served as a starting point for a broader discussion. Jan Wyżykowski University thanks all participants for their time and active participation in the proceedings. Collaboration with the educational community is an important element in our efforts to build high-quality education.

Activities related to the functioning of the Board of Directors are carried out as part of the project “Academic Compass: A Comprehensive Monitoring and Support Program at UJW,” implemented under Measure 01.05 “Skills in Higher Education” of the “European Funds for Social Development 2021–2027” program, co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+).
