Mechatronics students after their thesis defense

Grupa mężczyzn w strojach oficjalnych pozuje w holu uczelni.

Eleven graduates supervised by Antoni Mitus, BEng, PhD, DSc, ProfTit Stefan Giżewski, Assoc. Prof. Grzegorz Łomotowski, BEng, PhD, and Antoni Izworski, BEng, PhD, successfully defended their theses in the Mechatronics program. The theses had a practical focus and were characterized by great diversity. These included, among others, teaching stations, workstations designed for specific workplaces, computer programs, and a laser plotter. The topic of Piotr Pępkowski, BEng degree thesis was “Automation and Remote Control of Selected Devices in a Smart Home.” Mr. Pępkowski presented his original software, which he uses via a cell phone to manage devices in the apartment, regardless of the technology or manufacturer.  Engineer Robert Szustek, in turn, constructed a teaching station that will allow UJW students to gain practical experience with the principles of measuring active, reactive, and apparent power, as well as the phenomenon of reactive power compensation. Jan Walczak, PhD, Dean of the Faculty of Social and Technical Sciences, also served on the examination committee. Gentlemen, we invite you to join us this fall for our master’s programs in Management or Mining and Geology. Once again, congratulations!
