From October 6–9, a kick-off meeting for the H2VE project – Hydrogen Valley Vocational Excellence Hub – co-funded under the #Erasmus+ EU Solidarity Corps program, took place in Perugia, Italy. The event was attended by representatives of 19 partners from Europe and Africa, representing universities, the social sector, the industrial sector, and public administration. The meeting was opened by Giovanni Cinti, PhD of the University of Perugia, which serves as the project leader. Marek Jaskólski, PhD is the project manager on behalf of UJW.  The H2VE project aims to develop Centers of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) in the field of hydrogen technologies, which will support the training of personnel for the green energy transition. Discussions during the meeting focused on planning activities within the framework of twelve work packages – ranging from project management, through the identification of competency needs and the design of educational programs, to the development of digital tools and the creation of regional centers of excellence. Jan Wyżykowski University, as the only university in our country, is part of the Polish CoVE, which consists of: the Association for the Development of Energy Innovation as the lead partner and Innovation AG as a company operating in the new mobility sector. This model of cooperation – bringing together an industry organization, a university, and a business – enables the creation of training programs and educational scenarios that address real market needs and current technological challenges. During the meeting in Perugia, specific tasks were assigned to individual teams for the coming months. Participants exchanged experiences and ideas regarding the implementation of educational solutions in the field of hydrogen technologies and analyzed differences in the level of advancement among regions. The meeting concluded with the “H2VE CoVE Workshop,” during which six regional centers of excellence – from Latvia, Italy, Greece, Poland, Germany, and Ghana – were presented.
