Awards Ceremony at UJW

On October 26 of this year, a meeting was held at the University’s main campus between the Rector and faculty members, administrative staff, and the top students and graduates of the Jan Wyżykowski University. During the meeting, the Rector presented awards not only to students but also to the top faculty members and recognized administrative staff. Eight faculty members were honored with the title “Lecturer of the Year 2021/2022,” selected based on the results of surveys conducted among students. In each field of study, the lecturer who received the highest rating was selected. The following individuals received a statuette and a letter of congratulations:

The following administrative staff members were also honored: Ms. Renata Wallis, MA – Bursar; Ms. Monika Ciosłowska-Grycz, BEng, MSc – Senior Administrative and Office Specialist, who works daily at the Dean’s Office of the Lubin Branch Campus – and Ms. Małgorzata Sekuła, MA – Assistant to the Rector’s Office. The Legnica Special Economic Zone has honored graduates who wrote outstanding theses and successfully defended them at our university. Every year, the company organizes a competition for the best thesis at the Faculty of Social and Technical Sciences in Polkowice and at the Lubin Branch Campus. LSSE President Przemysław Bożek personally congratulated the graduates and the advisors of the best theses. Lubin Branch:
- First place in the competition for the best thesis was awarded to Ms. Katarzyna Żyła for her thesis titled “Psychological Determinants of Innovation in Enterprises,” written under the supervision of Miłosz Czopek, PhD.
- Second place went to Ms. Paula Krynicka for her thesis titled "Intellectual Capital Management at INOVA Centrum Innowacji Technicznych Sp. z o.o.," written under the supervision of Robert Balcerzyk, PhD.
- Third place went to Mr. Sebastian Składnik for his paper titled “Assessment of the Impact of Mining Voids on Seismic Activity at KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. – ‘Lubin’ Mining Operations,” written under the supervision of Anna Wojciechowicz, BEng, PhD.
- Anna Jedynak received an honorable mention for her thesis titled “Workplace Stress and the Concept of Work-Life Balance: The Case of Brose Sitech Sp. z o.o.,” written under the supervision of Jan Walczak, PhD.
WNSiT in Polkowice:
- First place in the competition went to Mr. Jacek Bancerz for his thesis titled “The Smart Home.” The thesis was written under the supervision of Zdzisław Pólkowski, BEng, PhD, an Associate Professor at UJW.
- Second place in the competition went to Mr. Paweł Łebek for his thesis titled “Programming Automation Systems Using PLCs Communicating via Industrial Ethernet,” which he wrote under the supervision of Grzegorz Łomotowski, BEng, PhD.
- Third place went to Ms. Magdalena Ślebioda for her thesis titled “The Provision of Public Services in Electronic Form as Assessed by Local Government Employees: The Case of the Głogów City Hall,” written under the supervision of Łukasz Mikowski, PhD.
- Honorable Mention – Mr. Łukasz Młodzia for his thesis titled “A Project to Optimize Internal Logistics (Production) Based on the Example of a Selected Company,” written under the supervision of Robert Kaszuba, PhD.
- Honorable Mention – Mr. Dominik Szymczak for his thesis titled “Numerical Modeling and Strength Analysis of a Steel Pressure Vessel,” written under the supervision of Piotr Krysiak, PhD.
In addition, Ms. Arleta Chorąży, Director of the Employee Performance Department at KGHM Polska Miedź S.A., together with the Dean of the Faculty of Mining and Geology, Anna Wojciechowicz, BEng, PhD, presented certificates to the KGHM scholarship recipients, that is, the top students in the Mining and Geology program, first-cycle (engineering) studies. It is worth noting that each semester, the scholarship recipients are awarded scholarships by the Company in the amount of one semester’s tuition. First year, second semester
