Caring for students’ mental well-being is one of the key elements of the “Academic Compass: A Comprehensive Monitoring and Support Program at UJW” project. As part of this project, the Jan Wyżykowski University established the Academic Psychological Counselling Centre, which offers free and professional psychological assistance. The counseling center was created for students who need support in coping with challenges related to their studies, personal lives, or planning for their future. Consultations are available to individuals experiencing, among other things, chronic stress, adjustment difficulties, problems with concentration and motivation, emotional crises, low mood, or difficulties in relationships with others. Support is provided by qualified specialists in an atmosphere of trust, discretion, and respect. Individual counseling sessions help students better cope with everyday challenges, strengthen their mental resilience, and develop the skills necessary to maintain a balance between their studies, work, and personal life. The establishment of the Academic Psychological Counselling Centre is an important component of the comprehensive student support system implemented at Jan Wyżykowski University. Its activities contribute to building a friendly academic environment, enhancing the comfort of studying, and reducing the incidence of students dropping out.
These tasks are carried out as part of the project “Academic Compass: A Comprehensive Monitoring and Support Program at UJW,” under Measure 01.05 “Skills in Higher Education” of the European Funds for Social Development 2021–2027 program, co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus.
