We bid farewell to the late Jan Sadecki, BEng, PhD

It is with deep sorrow that we received the news of the passing of Jan Sadecki, BEng, PhD, an outstanding miner, manager, the first Chairman of the Management Board of KGHM Polska Miedź S.A., and a person who had long been associated with our university.

Jan Sadecki, BEng, PhD, was among those who, through their knowledge, professional experience, and dedication, supported the education of future generations. By sharing his practical knowledge and extensive experience gained in the mining industry with students, he made a valuable contribution to their development and preparation for their future careers.

For many years, his professional career was tied to Polska Miedź. He rose through the ranks of the mining industry, served as director of the “Rudna” Mining Operations, and later became the first Chairman of the Board of KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. Through his work, knowledge, and experience, he helped shape the history of one of the most important companies in our region.

He will be remembered as a man who made an extraordinary contribution to Polish mining, the Copper Basin, and the academic community, and who was always eager to share his experience with younger generations.

We extend our deepest condolences and words of support to the family and loved ones of Jan Sadecki, BEng, PhD, during this difficult time.
