UJW has signed a cooperation agreement with the Polish Copper Employers’ Association

On July 4, 2025, at Jan Wyżykowski University, a cooperation agreement was signed between the University and the Polish Copper Employers’ Association – an organization bringing together key representatives of the industrial sector in the Copper Basin region. The agreement concerns support for the Mechanical Engineering program at the first (bachelor’s) and second (master’s) levels. Among other things, the agreement provides for scholarship programs for students who combine professional work with academic studies at UJW. Students who are employees of companies within the KGHM Group will be able to apply for scholarships covering up to 75% of their tuition costs. This is an extremely significant moment for both our university and the business community. It is a step toward improving the quality and effectiveness of vocational education, better aligning it with the challenges of modern development and the needs of the local labor market. The agreement reflects both parties’ shared commitment to the development of modern higher education – one that is firmly rooted in the region’s economic realities and responsive to the current and future needs of the labor market, particularly in the engineering and technology sectors. The following individuals participated in the agreement signing ceremony: – Dariusz Zając, PhD, Assoc. Prof. – Rector of the Jan Wyżykowski University, – Jarosław Dudkowiak – Chairman of the Board of the Polish Copper Employers’ Association, – Barbara Zwierzyńska-Doskocz – Vice Chairwoman of the Board of the Polish Copper Employers’ Association, – Piotr Krysiak, BEng, MSc, PhD – Associate Dean of the Faculty of Social and Technical Sciences, – Edyta Zarecka, BEng, MSc – Director of Administration and Finance at UJW.
