Inauguration of the 2026/2027 Jubilee Academic Year at Jan Wyżykowski University

Jan Wyżykowski University officially kicked off the 2026/2027 academic year. This year’s opening ceremony was particularly special – it was combined with the celebration of Jan Wyżykowski University’s 25th anniversary. It was a special moment that brought together the academic community, local government officials, UJW partners, alumni, and invited guests.

The ceremony was attended by representatives of local authorities and institutions that collaborate with the university, including, among others, Wiesław Wabik, Mayor of Polkowice, Jan Wojtowicz, Deputy County Administrator of Polkowice, and Jarosław Rabczenko, a member of the Lower Silesian Province Executive Board.

One of the highlights of the ceremony was the inaugural lecture by Marian Noga, PhD, DSc, ProfTit, titled “Inflation in Poland in the 21st Century.” The lecture provided an opportunity to examine one of the key issues in the modern economy and its significance for Poland.

The Rudna Mining Company Orchestra, conducted by Janusz Trepiak, provided the ceremonial musical accompaniment for the event, lending the inauguration a unique and solemn atmosphere.

The inauguration was also an opportunity to honor students and graduates of the Jan Wyżykowski University. Awards were presented to the top students in each major – those with the highest grade point averages – as well as the top graduates.

Two individuals received a special honor – the title of Primus Inter Pares: Mariusz Babiak, MA, and Patrycja Górecka, B.A.

The ceremony also included the presentation of diplomas to graduates and a formal oath-taking ceremony for first-year students, who thereby officially joined the UJW academic community.

The top graduates also received additional honors in the form of awards sponsored by the university’s partner, MODIVO.COM S.A.

Another year lies ahead, filled with learning, new challenges, encounters, and academic experiences. We wish the entire UJW community a year filled with success, inspiration, and satisfaction!
