UJW Paweł Greń, PhD, DSc, ProfTit, of the University of Jagiellonian, is the new Rector

We are pleased to announce that on March 1, 2024, Paweł Greń, PhD, DSc, ProfTit, MBA, assumed the position of Rector of the Jan Wyżykowski University. He has been associated with our university since 2017, where he served as Vice-Rector for Development and Research beginning in 2019. He holds a Ph.D. in social sciences, specializing in the study of cognition and social communication, and is a member of the Polish Society for Social Communication. He graduated from the University of Wrocław, the National Education Commission Pedagogical University in Kraków, SWPS University, the Academy of Economics and Humanities in Warsaw, and the University of Lower Silesia in Wrocław. He has an extensive body of scholarly work. He is the author of numerous publications that have appeared in renowned journals in Poland and around the world, including, among others, *Cybersecurity of Critical Infrastructure. Politics, Social Communication, Law; Media Images of the Enemy; Memory and the Media: Commemoration of the Liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau in Press Discourse; and The Question of Memory: Autobiographical Accounts of Concentration Camp Prisoners. Paweł Greń, PhD, DSc, ProfTit is also a fellow of the government’s “POWER” program, through which he completed a research fellowship at the University of Cambridge. He is a participant in the research project “Public Communication in Poland – An Inter- and Multidisciplinary Approach,” carried out by the “Discourse Analysis” research consortium and funded by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education (National Program for the Development of the Humanities). He has received numerous awards for his academic and research work and has been voted best lecturer by students on several occasions.
