The First Miners’ Convent

On January 17, 2025, the Jan Wyżykowski University hosted a special mining Convent titled “The Evolution of Machinery in Copper Mining.” The main organizer of the event was the SITG Club at KGHM ZANAM S.A., under the patronage of the Management Board of KGHM ZANAM S.A.

The main theme of the meeting was the transformation of mining machinery drives in the context of:

• Technological evolution from the past to the future,

• Low-emission and zero-emission drive systems, as exemplified by products from KGHM ZANAM S.A.,

• Technical and legal aspects, as well as challenges related to their operation. Approximately 80 specialists – engineers, experts, and enthusiasts of the mining industry – took part.
