Practical Educational Profile

The program consists of 144 hours of classes designed to develop practical skills, for which 29 ECTS credits have been assigned.

Organizing and managing underground mining operations, taking into account mining and geological conditions.

Assessment of natural hazards, ventilation, prevention, and the use of rescue equipment and procedures.

Machinery, Automation, and Electromobility

Selection of machinery and equipment, electrical systems, automation, and BEV battery-powered drives.

Drilling and Blasting Techniques

Fundamentals of Drilling Operations and the Safe Design and Conduct of Drilling and Blasting Operations.

Who is it for?

The program is designed for engineers and master’s degree holders in engineering from technical fields, particularly for engineering andat copper ore and hard coal mines, as well as individuals interested in the design and exploitation of mineral deposits and underground mining technologies.

Admission requirements

The candidate should hold a bachelor's degree in engineering or a master's degree in engineering from a technical program.

What will you gain?

Completion of the program enables students to apply for the professional qualifications required for certification in underground mining operations, as provided for in Article 54(3)(1) of the Geological and Mining Law. The degree certificate itself does not replace the separate procedure for obtaining these qualifications.

The programme meets industry requirements

The program fully complies with the requirements of the Higher Mining Authority regarding the training of personnel performing supervisory and senior supervisory duties in mining operations, as well as managers and deputy managers of the following departments: mining, blasting, rockbursts, and ventilation. Classes are taught by experienced industry professionals, particularly experts affiliated with KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. and the Regional Mining Authority.
